Why have I never tried ghee or raw honey before?? Those are just two new items in my pantry that will soon be staples because of this cookbook. I was excited to see that while Tamila does talk about some ingredients that are new to me, all of them are readily available and not too “strange” to incorporate into my own cooking and lifestyle. For example, I just had blueberry chia for breakfast and loved it. (That’s another new ingredient that will be in rotation.) Tamila has a relaxed way of presenting her recipes and a balanced way of living her life—call it healthy elegance. Highly recommend this book if you are looking for a way to shift your family’s classic meals in a healthier direction!

I cannot say enough great things about this cookbook. The recipes are fabulous, simple and delicious. One of my favorites is the sauerkraut salad which I have been making for my husband during his weight loss journey. It has become a staple for our dinners. I love the book. I’ve cooked several recipes already and they are delicious, healthy and easy to make. It feels like you are not just eating, you are doing something good for yourself. The author explains why certain ingredients work together and enhance health benefits, for instance, to activate beneficial enzymes or to neutralize anti-nutrients, so you are not just blindly following the recipe, you know why you are doing it. At the same time, it is concise. There is no empty content, every word is needed and has value. This book became my guidance to healthy cooking. And I also noticed that I started spending less money on groceries by not buying unnecessary ingredients.
